HOME MATCH v BUCKIE THISTLE FC
BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE
SEAFIELD PARK, GRANTOWN-ON-SPEY, PH26 3HE
WEDNESDAY 11 MARCH 2026 – KO 8pm
On Wednesday night we welcome players, officials and supporters of Buckie Thistle FC to Seafield Park for our rearranged match in the Breedon Highland League. The match has been put off twice so hopefully third time lucky!
Buckie currently sit in eighth place in the league with forty-one points from twenty-eight games which is six places above us and ten points ahead but have had a bit of a topsy-turvy season winning twelve, losing eleven and drawing five which includes a 4-1 defeat in our the last league game we played way back in August, which was at the time possibly our best result since entering the league in season 2009/2010 – so I am sure they will be out for a bit of revenge.

However with three losses a draw and a win in their last five games, admittedly in a tough run of fixtures and with ourselves winning two out of our last three the scene will be set for what I reckon will be a very tough evening but there is every possibility of achieving at least a point under the Seafield Park floodlights in Strathy Jags’ head coach Aaron Doran’s target of a minimum of forty points this season – a season which has been fascinating.
If any of the Buckie travelling support wants a resumé of what’s available in Grantown – click here – our Snack Bar situated in the ground has non-alcoholic beverages and foodstuffs and, in addition, is our Mackellar Suite, also situated within the ground, and is available for pre and aprés match alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and foodstuffs.
As ever we wish Aaron, JLF and the boys all the best.
SATURDAY’S MATCH AT INVERURIE
On Saturday we headed to Harlaw Park, Inverurie after our morale bruising match against Clach when a red card spoiled what could have been a decent result for the Jags’ but that’s another story. How would the boys cope – well, very well actually.
Locos were the first club to visit Seafield Park in August 2009 in our first season in the Highland League and over the years had never beaten them.
In the first half both managers concluded we were the better team with Caelan Mutch driving a home a cracker of a shot midway through the first half taking us into the break one up.
We went two ahead in fifty minutes courtesy of an own goal by Taylor Chapman.
Locos then made four changes which worked and after seventy-five minutes the scores were level at 2-2.
However, in the last minute universally accepted best player on the park, Andrew Macleod scored the winner with an excellently taken free kick giving us all three points in what was by all accounts an exciting game.
So, history made, our first ever win against Locos and hopefully we can keep up the winning formula for Wednesday.
