Saturday 1st: The scheduled trip to Keith at the beginning of the month was called off.
Saturday 8th: Another frustrating afternoon of lost football (and revenue) as our home game against Clachnacuddin was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Thursday 13th: We were delighted to secure the signing of local boy Sam Morrison, on loan from Buckie Thistle, until the end of the season, providing a link to the past as Sam’s dad Eddie is a former STFC player and committee member.
Saturday 15th: A first game of February and lots of positives to take from a 3-2 defeat away to Formartine, although it didn’t feel like that when the home side scored an injury-time winner.
The Jags, who were reduced to ten men when Ali Nixon was sent off around the hour mark, twice battled back to equalise in the game, through Daniel Whitehorn and a Paul Brindle penalty.
Wednesday 19th: A tough midweek away trip as Brora Rangers showed why they are looking good to top the Highland League table this season, the home side securing a 7-0 victory over a battling Jags outfit.
Friday 21st: Lewis Mackie joined Golspie Sutherland on a one-month loan deal.
Saturday 22nd: At long last, football on a Saturday afternoon at Seafield Park after a sudden rise in temperatures meant no need for a pitch inspection ahead of the visit of Nairn County and gave us a chance to pay tribute pre-match to Ali Smith with a minute’s applause following his sad passing.
The Jags took an early lead through Caelan Mutch and although Nairn did eventually level through Lisle, some important saves from Euan Storrier secured a point that lifted us off the bottom of the Highland League table.

Stop Press – Saturday March 1st: Another battling home performance but a 2-0 defeat to Keith, the visitors second coming in injury time after some strong Jags pressure, kicks off a busy and crucial month of fixtures with Buckie Thistle our next opponents on Wednesday 5th at Seafield Park.
