AWAY GAME v HUNTLY FC
BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE
CHRISTIE PARK, HUNTLY  AB54 8JE
SATURDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2024 – KO 3pm

Hopefully there will no early morning rain as this Saturday sees us heading towards Gordon country and hopefully come sundown we leave with all three points.

We played Huntly at Seafield Park on a not too bad Wednesday night weather wise in late November and although scoring first through Mike McKenzie, we conceded two goals before half time and another two in the second half. It was another game we started well but fell away sharply and Huntly deserved their win. Their results have been a bit topsy turvy since the turn of the year but Huntly currently sit in eighth place in the league with thirty-nine points so their season has been reasonably successful so far so the Jags will be in for very tough game again and we wish manager Rob and the boys all the best in their quest for points…..

LAST SATURDAY’S HOME GAME AGAINST INVERURIE LOCOS

There was a good crowd attendance for our home match against The Locos. On a reasonably fine February day we found ourselves two down at half-time losing goals in the seventeenth and forty-sixth minutes – the second was more or less the last kick before the break. I think most fans present would have agree that Locos deserved their lead.

The Jags go close

It was a different Jags in the second half and we strongly competed throughout the half and manufactured at least two very good chances but again we failed to find the back of the net – which seems to be the story every week.

Although an improvement on our first meeting in Inverurie where we lost five-nil but that is really no compensation for taking no points over the two games.

NEXT GAME
At the time of writing our next game is scheduled for Victoria Park in Buckie – and as far as we know the game will take place next Saturday – 2 March – with a 3pm kick off.
If you don’t know Buckie have had to play their home matches away from home since November – the last two have been in Lossiemouth – because there is drainage problems in one part of the pitch – a problem no-one seems to know what is causing it, but work has been going on in trying to fix and as I said they hope to be back home this week.

Please keep checking here and our FaceBook and Twitter/X feeds for up to date news.

LOTTERY
As ever we conclude this week’s meanderings offering you a jackpot win of £4700 on our online fundraising lottery – click here if you want to play…

LOTTERY CH-CH-CHANGES
As intimated a couple of weeks ago after the current jackpot , which now stands at £4700, has been won it therefore comples that game so then there will be couple of changes – there will still be a weekly prize of £100 for a consolation winner if their entry matches four of the five numbers drawn, however instead of a weekly increase in the jackpot of £100, this will now be increased monthly.

The game is to forecast 5 winning numbers, which are drawn at random, from 1-20. The 5 numbers chosen are to be marked by a cross (X).

  1. The Jackpot prize starts at £1,000 and the game continues until it is won and starts afresh. As applicable, the Jackpot increases by £100 immediately after the first draw in each calendar month, up to a maximum of £5,000. The Jackpot is then capped at £5,000 until it is won in a weekly draw.
  2. If more than one player has 5 winning numbers, the Jackpot will be divided equally among the winning players.
  3. Should no entry forecast all 5 winning numbers, then any player matching 4 numbers will be entered into a draw for a single Consolation Prize of £100
  4. THE DRAW will take place every SUNDAY at 7pm unless otherwise advised.
  5. The entrant named on the ticket must be at least 16 years of age.
  6. All winners will be notified.
