AWAY MATCH v BRORA RANGERS FC
BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE
DUDGEON PARK, BRORA KW9 6QN
WEDNESDAY 19 FEBRUARY 2025 – KICK OFF 8PM

We’re off to Dudgeon Park for a mid-week game under the floodlights and our second meeting with league leaders Brora Rangers. Bolstered by a very decent performance at Formartine United on Saturday we hope that the outcome of the game is not a repeat of our performance at Seafield Park in August which is not one to write home about.
There has been many changes since then, which has been proved by some of our recent performances and although we still have to include consistency game to game we are on the right track and will hopefully be able to add some points to our current league total which would enable us to climb above our current position.
Although sitting on top of the league Brora lost recently to Fraserburgh, who we managed a draw with in our meeting at Seafield Park in November, so as we always say in football – you just never know how it’s going to go.
We wish Ryan and the boys all the best on their trip north up the A9, and hope it’s a game the fans turning up on what will probably be a coolish February Wednesday – you never know the Jag’s fans may leave Brora with a wee smile …..
SATURDAY’S MATCH AT FORMARTINE UNITED.

We wuz robbed!
The Jags put in a great performance – each and every one of them and we were very unlucky not to leave North Lodge Park with a point.
Formartine currently sitting in sixth position in the league took the lead on the stroke of half -time, a goal which our spies said was “soft”, which was no reward for the Jags first half performance. The only downside apart from a couple of decent shots saved by the Formartine keeper was a yellow card for Ali Nixon.
Nine minutes into the second half we equalised from a superb header by Daniel Whitehorn but unfortunately were one behind in the next minute.
As the heavens opened eight minutes later Ali Nixon unfortunately was shown another yellow card which meant we would be down to ten men for the next half-hour.
However after sixty-five minutes Liam Shewan and goalscorer Whitehorn were replaced by Paul Brindle and Cammy Lisle and after seventy one minutes debutant Sam Morrison was replaced by James Fraser and fortunately the rain also eased off.
The Formartine keeper then pulled off a great save from a James McShane header and after a lot of pressure we were awrded a penalty in the eighty-ninth minute which Paul Brindle converted to level the score.
However in the ninety-fourth minute Formartine scored which was to prove the winning goal.
As you would imagine the all the Jags contingent were gutted but again it showed we can compete with the best which augurs well for the future.

PLEASE REMEMBER WE WILL BE AT HOME TO NAIRN COUNTY ON SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY – OUR FIRST HOME GAME SINCE NOVEMBER AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE – KICK OFF IS 3PM.
